Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest 2023

Put on your running shoes for the Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest 2023 coming up on Sunday, Oct. 22nd on Auburn University’s campus.

About the Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest

The Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest 2023 is a color run benefiting the Food Bank of East Alabama. There are two different race options to choose from: a one-mile fun run at 4 p.m. or a 5K race at 4:30 p.m. In other words, a wide range of fitness levels can participate in a run while supporting a good cause.

Race registration is now closed, but there is still an opportunity to register the day of the races.

Runners are encouraged to bring non-perishable goods for donation to the food bank. That includes needed items such as peanut butter, nut butters, canned tuna, canned salmon, canned soup, canned vegetables, canned fruits, dry pasta, cereal, other breakfast items and 100 percent fruit juice.

Additional items consist of personal and paper products, like toilet paper, feminine products and toothpaste, for instance.

Along with the fun run and 5K, the Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest 2023 features merchandise, children’s entertainment, water stops and refreshments.

More about the Beat Bama Food Drive

Besides the Beat Bama Food Drive Run Fest and food donations, there are plenty of other ways to get involved. You can also make a monetary donation or volunteer your time as part of the Beat Bama Food Drive.

Established in 1994, the Beat Bama Food Drive is a good-natured contest between Auburn University and the Food Bank of East Alabama and the University of Alabama and the West Alabama Food Bank. However, the unifying competition brings together students, faculty, staff, alumni and the communities of both campuses. Thus creating a positive impact that goes well beyond each city.

In fact, according to the website, the challenge has collected more than 8.4 million pounds of food for Alabamians in need.
